"Gyoshintei" sits within a historical site called the Nikko Fudoson.
The restaurant was named after "Gyoshinbo", an ancient site in Mt. Nikko which was the training grounds for the monks.
"Gyoshintei" which specializes in Shojin (vegetarian) cuisine inherited the 1200 year history of Mt. Nikko and is the only restaurant in Nikko which practices the traditional and authentic Shojin cooking method of "Shijo Shinryu".
